Mystery Woman
Emmy-winning/Oscar-nominated actress Alfre Woodard may take a new direction from dramatic roles to sophisticated comedy if plans for a new “Mr. and Mrs. North” TV series work out.
Larry Grusin (“Garbo Talks”) is scripting an hour pilot based on the early ‘50s series about an urbane NYC couple who just happen to stumble on a murder-mystery every week. It’s for Titus Prods., a division of Taft Entertainment, said veep Richard Leary.
After an earlier radio run, “Mr. and Mrs. North” became a popular CBS series in 1952, later moving to NBC starring Richard Denning and Barbara Britton. The series ended in 1954.
ABC has made no commitment to such a series and who might play Mr. North is still . . . a mystery.
