S.D. Hotel Resident Found Dead Downtown
A 49-year-old resident of a downtown San Diego hotel was found dead in the 500 block of 13th Street early Friday by police officers flagged down by a passer-by.
Police spokeswoman Lt. Connie Van Putten said the victim, Robert Southwick, was lying face down on the sidewalk and had minor facial and hand injuries that appeared to have been caused by a fall.
Deputy County Coroner Dan Matticks said an autopsy indicated that Southwick died of a heart attack. Southwick lived at the Monte Carlo Hotel on Market Street.
