Traditional New Year’s Day bowl games will roll out on Friday--Citrus, Cotton, Fiesta, Sugar, Rose and Orange.
Still regarded as the granddaddy of them all is the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where the USC Trojans will take on the Michigan State Spartans in a game to be seen on NBC starting at 1:30 p.m. on Channels 4, 36 and 39.
This year’s trip to Pasadena marks the 25th Rose Bowl appearance for the Trojans.
Quarterback Rodney Peete and linebacker Marcus Cotton (on the cover) and the rest of the Trojans hope to avenge their season-opening loss to the Spartans. USC ended up with an 8-3 record, Michigan State was 8-2-1.
