Let’s Open the Mail Bag and Take the Rubber Band Off Stack of ’87
EDITOR’S NOTE: These letters represent many of the best received by The Times in 1987, and reflect the leading issues and events discussed in Viewpoint during that period.
I’m surprised that the NCAA hasn’t announced a new bowl for 1987: The Steroid Bowl.
It’s a shame to see talent like Oklahoma’s Brian Bosworth, USC’s Jeff Bregel, Arkansas’ David Dudley and Stanford’s John Zenter forced to wear “civvies” on their respective game days. The Steroid Bowl would allow these wonders of modern medical science to show what they’re made of on the field of competition.
