Two Kentucky Players Injured in Accident
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Two University of Kentucky basketball players were injured in a traffic accident Friday when they were returning from Christmas dinner at Coach Eddie Sutton’s house.
Richard Madison, a senior forward, and Eric Manuel, a freshman guard, were in stable condition at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
They suffered multiple bruises but X-rays showed no broken bones, said Dr. Michael Ray, the team physician. They were to spend the night at the hospital for more observation.
Madison was driving the car, which was making a left turn when it was hit broadside by a pickup truck, school officials said. The accident occurred in Lexington about 3:30 p.m. EST.
