Local News in Brief : Van Nuys Man Killed in Hit-Run Accident
A Van Nuys man was killed by a hit-and-run driver Saturday night after he left a party and walked into the street, Los Angeles police said.
George Deleon, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was struck by a car in the 6800 block of Fulton Avenue at 11:20 p.m., Officer Mark Winter said.
Police said the hostess of the party told them that Deleon appeared to be intoxicated when he left her house shortly before the accident.
There were no clues about the identity of the car’s driver, police said Sunday. They said they did not know how fast the car was going.
