LAKE CHARLES, La. —
Craig Davis’ jumper with 18 seconds left helped Pepperdine score a 63-61 victory over McNeese State Saturday.
Michael Cutright gave McNeese State (0-4) a 61-60 lead by hitting a 12-foot jumper with 36 seconds left. But the Waves regained the lead, 62-61, on Davis’ shot, and after McNeese State lost the inbounds pass, Levy Middlebrooks sank one of two free throws for the final margin.
Cutright’s last-second 30-foot jumper bounced off the rim.
Tom Lewis scored a team-high 23 points as Pepperdine improved its record to 4-1.
McNeese got 14 points from center Anthony Pullard, a starter two years ago, who played his first game after a year of academic ineligibility.
