76-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Van
A 76-year-old Reseda man was struck by a van and killed at a Van Nuys intersection Thursday afternoon, police said.
Eduardo Navarro was in a marked crosswalk on Van Nuys Boulevard at Hamlin Street about 3:45 p.m. while the pedestrian traffic signal was red, Officer Gary Milligan said.
A van driven by 23-year-old Audifas Rosales of Van Nuys struck Navarro as he was crossing, Milligan said.
Navarro, who suffered multiple broken bones and abdominal bleeding, was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 9 p.m., Milligan said.
