Local News in Brief : Metro Rail Hearing
Public comments on the route of a proposed Metro Rail extension from MacArthur Park through Hollywood will be taken by the RTD board on Friday.
The proposal calls for the second leg of the rail line to run as a subway west on Wilshire Boulevard from Alvarado Street to Western Avenue. An elevated, Hollywood spur, which has been strongly opposed by recording and broadcast studios, would run north on Vermont Avenue and west on Sunset Boulevard.
The hearing will be at 10 a.m. at 425 S. Main St., in downtown Los Angeles.
