Soviet General Assigned to E. German Command

EAST BERLIN — Gen. Boris V. Snetkov has been appointed commander of the Soviet armed forces in East Germany, the East German news service ADN reported Wednesday.
He replaces Gen. Valery A. Belikov, who died of a heart attack Nov. 12 at his headquarters.
