Israeli Forces Complete Civilian Defense Exercises

JERUSALEM — The army has completed large-scale exercises in southern Israel in which it practiced defending civilian areas against enemy attacks, the military command said Friday.
The air force, the engineers’ corps and infantry units participated in the maneuvers, using tanks and artillery.
The announcement said troops were deployed in several settlements in southern Israel. The exercise focused on the use of planes in the defense of civilian areas, the army said.
It did not say where the exercises occurred, how long they lasted or how many troops participated.
