LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Barry Bingham Sr., former publisher and co-owner of the Louisville Courier-Journal, has been admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for treatment of a brain tumor, a family spokesman said Tuesday.
Bingham, 81, flew to Boston on Monday for tests to determine if the tumor is malignant, said Gordon Davidson, an attorney and Bingham friend who speaks for the family.
Davidson said the tumor has affected Bingham’s vision, but he otherwise was in excellent health and the prognosis “has a lot of promise.”
