A 24-year-old Santa Ana man died Monday of injuries suffered when he was run over by five cars in a Garden Grove intersection nine days ago, authorities said.
Garden Grove Police Lt. Ken Whitman said Tommy Prieto Rocha died at 7:32 a.m. Monday at UCI Medical Center, where he was being treated in the intensive care unit.
Whitman said Rocha was not in a crosswalk on Nov. 14 when he ran across the intersection of Buena Street and Westminster Avenue at 10:50 p.m. Rocha was hit by two cars, but no charges were filed against the drivers.
Garden Grove police are seeking a description and information about the three other drivers whose cars struck Rocha. The latter three were being sought on suspicion of felony hit and run, Whitman said.
