On a recent flight from Cleveland to Los Angeles, one lavatory was out-of-order because of a plumbing problem and the other had no light. When I expressed my annoyance to a stewardess, she explained blithely, “We felt you’d rather be on time than delay for a repair.” Sic transit common sense and good judgment.
Apparently, the airlines need to be graded on cleanliness and basic amenities as well as on-time performance and not losing/trashing luggage.
