Chatsworth 45, Van Nuys 20--Chatsworth scored touchdowns on its first five possessions to share the league title with Taft, a 27-21 winner over Canoga Park. Chancellor quarterback Bryan Addison gained 138 yards and scored 2 touchdowns in 9 carries. He also returned a kickoff for 85 yards and a touchdown in the second quarter to increase Chatsworth’s lead to 29-7.
Chatsworth running back Dan Joella carried 16 times for 131 yards and a touchdown. His scoring run from four yards out put the Chancellors (6-3, 4-1 in league) ahead, 21-0.
Van Nuys (3-5-1, 1-4 in league) was led by running back Muhammad Zaid, who carried 23 times for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns. Quarterback Louis Vann, who left the game in the second quarter because of a shoulder injury, carried three times for 37 yards and a touchdown.
