Huntington Park : Yule Bus Service Discussed
- Share via
The City Council has authorized the city administration and the Chamber of Commerce to arrange for free bus service for Christmas shoppers patronizing businesses on Pacific Boulevard in Huntington Park.
City and chamber officials met with Diversified Paratransit Inc. to discuss bus service on the boulevard during the four weeks preceding Christmas. “We’re probably talking about a weekend situation--Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays,” City Administrator Donald Jeffers said.
Officials hope that the service will bring additional shoppers to Pacific Boulevard, one of the busiest commercial corridors in the city. “The chamber feels that this will provide an extra convenience to the shopper,” Jeffers said.
Diversified Paratransit currently provides the city’s dial-a-ride service, which customers can call for a ride from their home to a stated destination.
