San Diego Section Field Hockey : Kris Fillat Leads Serra to 6-0 Victory

Kris Fillat had four goals to lead top-seeded Serra High School to a 6-0 victory over visiting Torrey Pines in the quarterfinals of the San Diego Section field hockey playoffs Tuesday.
Fillat scored the match’s only first-half goal. Torrey Pines trailed by that goal until the 13th minute of the second half, when Fillat scored again.
In fact, Serra (18-0) scored five times in a nine-minute span, including a goal each from Julia Taylor and Shirley Kesler.
Serra will play host to fourth-seeded San Marcos in one semifinal Thursday at 3 p.m.
In other quarterfinal matches:
San Marcos 2, Vista 0--Lisa Barone scored twice to lead host San Marcos (15-5).
Mira Mesa 2, Bishop’s 1--Sara Hallock scored twice in the first half as Mira Mesa won at home. Bishop’s scored with two minutes left in the match. Third-seeded Mira Mesa will play host to San Pasqual in the other semifinal Thursday at 3 p.m.
San Pasqual 2, Fallbrook 1--Visiting San Pasqual scored twice in the extra-strokes period to upset second-seeded Fallbrook. The match was tied, 1-1, after regulation and a 15-minute overtime.
