Bleeding Blue

Paul Burka’s paean to the Dodgers, “Bleeding Blue” (Oct. 4), and his prescription for their current ills, really rang true. As a fan who still has his faded pennant (now framed) from an Ebbets Field visit, how could I not appreciate his loving dissection of this national tragedy? One can only hope that Peter O’Malley is willing to break ranks with his fellow owners and bid for superstars at the players’ prices.
