A Honduran bishop accused the military of making death threats to Roman Catholic priests it suspects of collaboration with leftist Salvadoran guerrillas. Luis Alfonso Santos, bishop of Santa Rosa de Copan in western Honduras near El Salvador, said in a statement that the army would be responsible for “any moral or physical harm” suffered by people practicing religious activities.
