San Diego High School Playoffs : UCSD Advances to Volleyball Final

SAN DIEGO — Diana Klintworth had 14 kills and Janet Hughes added 11 kills Friday night to lead top-ranked UC San Diego to a 15-11, 15-12, 15-3 victory over Menlo College in the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Western Regional women’s volleyball playoffs at UCSD.
UCSD (28-4) will meet Cal State San Bernardino in the regional final at 7:30 tonight. San Bernardino (37-7) surprised second-seeded Colorado College, 14-16, 15-3, 15-8, 8-15, 15-8, in the other semifinal.
Pepperdine 3, University of San Diego 0--Barbara Blizzard had 12 kills in two games to lead the Waves past USD, 15-2, 15-7, 15-3, in a West Coast Athletic Conference match at the USD Sports Center.
No. 19 Pepperdine (16-9, 11-0) already has clinched the WCAC title. USD is 5-17 and 3-7.
