Pregnancy Cancels Surrogate Mom’s Book

NEWARK, N.J. — Surrogate mother Mary Beth Whitehead’s $95,000 deal for a book on the Baby M case has fallen apart after revelations that she is pregnant by her live-in boyfriend, it was reported today.
A contract was to have been signed last week by Whitehead and the Addison-Wesley Publishing Co. of Reading, Mass., according to the Newark Star-Ledger. She is expected to deliver next May or June.
