NEW YORK — A 75-year-old German tourist tried to kill himself twice this morning by jumping from the upper stories of a Manhattan hotel but failed both times and suffered only a broken arm, police said.
Otto Henning first jumped from the terrace of his room on the 14th floor of the President Hotel and landed on the terrace of the 13th floor. Then he jumped from the 13th floor and landed on an extension of the 10th floor, police spokesman Barry Hugh said. Henning was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
