Southern Section Water Polo Playoffs : Los Alamitos Is Winner, 20-4

Brian Lawrence and Tom Anderson had three goals each to lead Los Alamitos High School to a 20-4 victory over Beverly Hills Thursday in the first round of the Southern Section 3-A water polo playoffs at Los Alamitos.
Los Alamitos (24-4), which became the first team other than El Dorado to win the Empire League title in the last seven seasons, is the second-seeded team in 3-A behind San Clemente.
Los Alamitos led, 6-1, at the end of the first quarter and 12-1 at halftime.
Los Alamitos plays Royal Saturday in the second round. Royal defeated Buena, 13-10, in the first round Wednesday.
In other 3-A matches:
San Clemente 13, Crescenta Valley 1--Greg Morris, the South Coast League’s most valuable player, had four goals for San Clemente, which won at home.
Jason Leeds had three goals and Mike Koepsell and Troy Sanders had two each for San Clemente (22-5).
San Clemente plays Gahr Saturday in the second round. Gahr defeated Crespi, 14-6.
El Dorado 16, Glendale 9--El Dorado, the defending 3-A champions, won at Glendale. El Dorado (14-12) plays Indio in the second round Saturday.
