Local News in Brief : Business Booming at LAX
Passenger traffic increased 9.6% and takeoffs and landings were up 11.3% at Los Angeles International Airport during the first nine months of this year compared to the same period last year, airport officials reported.
Nearly 34.5 million passengers passed through the airport from January through September this year, and there were a total of 317,485 takeoffs and landings. Air cargo volume climbed 13.9%, to 846,304 tons, during the same period, the officials said.
