Christiana Cos. posted a profit of $143,000 in the first quarter, contrasted with a loss of $116,000 a year ago. The San Diego company noted that this year’s first quarter was its first profitable quarter in a year. Revenue declined sharply, to $1.1 million from $9.1 million. The company said that the decline was from the sale of its condominium projects and that the sellout, combined with the company’s expense-reduction program, resulted in the first-quarter profit.
