Kjell Dahlin Scores the Key Goal as Montreal Beats St. Louis, 6-4

MONTREAL — Kjell Dahlin scored with 4:20 to play in the third period to break a tie and send the Montreal Canadiens to a 6-4 National Hockey League victory over the St. Louis Blues Monday night.
Dahlin took a pass from Shayne Corson on the right wing and outskated two defenders before beating goalie Rick Wamsley on the far side. Chris Nilan added an empty-net goal for Montreal at 19:25.
Brian Skrudland, Mats Naslund, Mike McPhee and Peter Svoboda also scored for the Canadiens, who increased their unbeaten streak to four games.
The Blues trailed, 4-3, after two periods, but Mark Hunter tied the game at 6:54 of the third by scoring St. Louis’ third power-play goal. Hunter took Bernie Federko’s pass from behind the net and fired a screen shot past Montreal goalie Brian Hayward.
Tony McKegney, Ron Flockhart and Doug Gilmour were the other St. Louis scorers.
Hayward made 22 saves for the Canadiens, and Wamsley stopped 21 shots.
St. Louis tied the game, 3-3, with its second power-play goal midway through the second period.
