UniCare Financial Corp., an Irvine workers’ compensation underwriter, posted net income of $1.5 million for the third quarter, almost double the $839,000 earned last year. Quarterly revenues grew 25%, to $12.5 million from $10 million last year. For the first nine months, the company posted net income of $2.95 million, more than five times the $558,000 earned in the same period last year. Total revenues rose 41.2%, to $37 million for the period from $26.2 million last year.
