Desperate gurus are advocating overhaul of the stock market (“Does the Stock Market Need an Overhaul?” Oct. 25). Specifically, they point to program trading as the major cause of the 508-point drop.
All that computer program trading does is add a new and speedier tool to the same old game. The game is called survival of the fittest.
Is this the time to legislate nature out of existence?
