A Wrong-Way Bicycle

In the article “When Technology Became Art” (by William Wilson, Aug. 16), one of my bicycles appears with the caption: “Elgin ‘Bluebird’ Bicycle (unknown designer, 1936).” The bicycle shown is in fact my 1938 Silver King model M137 Wingbar and was designed (as I recall) by George Lewis.
Also you’d be surprised how many people are chuckling over the very obviously reversed photo: Bicycles never have the chain on the left side. And I don’t live in Costa Mesa.
