EAGLE, Ida. — A sheriff’s deputy whose parents’ home was destroyed in a Christmas Day fire 30 years ago rescued a woman and two children from a burning house.
“I do not like that smoke,” Tommy Corn, 45, said Thursday. “I was more than a trifle concerned when I went into that house.”
Julie Steiger, 30, who collapsed in the kitchen from smoke inhalation, was hospitalized in fair condition. Her 3-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter were not injured.
