Chained Dog Defenseless

Regarding the Sept. 20 article, “Your Dog Deserves a Vacation Too,” a comment and correction is in order about chaining your dog to a shade tree. This idea appears to be kind and compassionate, but bear in mind that a chained dog is a defenseless dog. A vicious aggressor dog can maul a chained dog and the chained dog can only carry the fight to the end of the chain. Ann Hunt wrote that she parked her car in the shade. If so, roll down the windows and leave Sancho in the car.
