Shirley MacLaine and the New Age

To follow MacLaine’s reasoning, 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Slavs, Gypsies and others “created” the Nazis so they might “learn” from the experience of the Holocaust. I do not quarrel with the notion that many people allow themselves to be victimized, but it is only a callous, impotent soul who chooses not to be touched by the plight of the homeless or the terror of a refugee targeted by the death squads. If MacLaine’s minions would take their thumbs out of their mouths and spend their time, talents and money in the hard, difficult world of real politics, they might find the purpose they now seem to lack.
