Montana, 11 Others Cross Line

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Quarterback Joe Montana and 11 other San Francisco 49ers defied striking teammates and returned to their team’s training camp today.
The defections from the striking 49ers began with the return of veteran tight end Russ Francis late Tuesday. Others joining the team today included wide receiver Dwight Clark; running backs Roger Craig, Joe Cribbs and Harry Sydney; cornerback Eric Wright; defensive lineman Pete Kugler; tight end Ron Heller; defensive end Dwaine Board, and linebackers George Cooper and Jeff Fuller.
