Santa Fe Southern Pacific announced the sale of its construction subsidiary, Robert E. McKee Inc., to Jacobs Engineering Group of Pasadena. for an undisclosed amount of cash. The sale of the McKee construction subsidiary to Jacobs “completes the first step of our previously announced plans to restructure the company and redeploy resources into three core businesses--transportation, natural resources and real estate,” said Santa Fe’s President Robert D. Krebs. Jacobs President Noel G. Watson said McKee would become a wholly owned subsidiary of Jacobs, an engineering design, consulting and construction company.
