Charles E. Hugel, president and CEO of Combustion Engineering Inc., will take over as “non-executive” chairman of RJR Nabisco, Atlanta, in October.
Hugel, 59, “will continue his principal responsibilities” as head of Combustion Engineering, a Stamford, Conn.-based supplier of equipment and technology to the power and process industries, according to a statement issued by RJR Nabisco.
Hugel replaces J. Paul Sticht, who turns 70 years old on Oct. 3. Sticht will remain a director until he retires in April.
