Mutual Fund to Key on Local Firms
Investors interested in Orange County companies but wary of the sometimes volatile stocks or their own ability to recognize good deals soon should be able to buy into a new mutual fund that consists only of county-based companies.
The Orange County Growth Fund, which is scheduled to be registered today with the Securities and Exchange Commission, will consist of shares of common stock in a number of county firms.
Newport Securities Corp. in Costa Mesa confirmed Thursday that it was putting together the unique mutual fund, but it declined to release any specific information until the documents are filed with the SEC today.
