Several local stations will provide special coverage when Pope John Paul II comes to Los Angeles this week as part of his 10-day, eight-city tour of the United States.
The pontiff will be in Los Angeles Tuesday and Wednesday, and the extensive TV plans include live coverage of the arrival, downtown parade, prayer service and public Masses.
Channel 5 has booked 48 hours of continuous coverage, while Channels 2, 4, 7, 9 and 11 also will have papal programming. Channels 34 and 52’s coverage will be broadcast in Spanish.
Cable News Network plans to cover the proceedings as well.
See Tuesday and Wednesday Watchables for details.
