The Closing of Marineland
Having grown up in the South Bay, I always regarded Marineland as a natural, permanent part of the area’s cultural environment. “The Death of Marineland” (by Nina Easton, Aug. 9) brought back the sensations of pain, anger and frustration I felt during the park’s closure last spring.
I hope that all of us in the greater Los Angeles area who were betrayed by the consistent lies of Harcourt Brace Jovanovich will continue to boycott their books, theme parks and services. HBJ played corporate hardball with the trusting residents of Palos Verdes--they deserve no less in return.
