ORANGE COUNTY PREP FOOTBALL : Roundup : El Dorado Gets Off to a Fast Start
El Dorado High School senior John Cribari returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and El Dorado went on to defeat La Quinta, 35-11, Friday in Bradford Stadium.
El Dorado’s Chris Olson scored 3 touchdowns and rushed for 151 yards in 18 carries.
“He’s a real workhorse,” said Carl Sweet, El Dorado coach. “He’s a flasher. He doesn’t have tremendous speed, but has good direction and can get up the field as he showed tonight.”
El Dorado quarterback Kevin Schula, who missed most of last season with a broken wrist, completed 5 of 10 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown.
The scoring pass play was a 41-yard completion to wide receiver Chris Facione in the second quarter that put El Dorado ahead at halftime, 28-3.
