Representatives of the National Basketball Assn. and its players met for 2 1/2 hours and made no headway toward reaching agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement.
After the first meeting of the two sides since July, Larry Fleisher, general counsel for the players’ union, said there was no progress on the three major issues on the table--free agency, the college draft and the salary cap.
