Orange : Suspect in Bank Heist Arrested After Chase
A 31-year-old suspect was arrested Friday after $650 was taken from a bank in Orange. The man was captured by police who chased him into a residential neighborhood, a Orange police spokesman said.
The robber gave a note to a teller at the California City Bank, 3443 E. Chapman Ave., at 11 a.m., Officer Robert Gustafson said. Two bank employees followed him out and flagged down a city parking control officer, who radioed for help. The man ran into a neighborhood that was immediately cordoned off by police.
Alan Edward Nelson of Santa Ana later surrendered without incident on Olympic Way south of Spring Street, Gustafson said.
