North Huntington Beach Wins in Soccer Event
North Huntington Beach defeated Orange, 5-1, Sunday to win the boys’ 19-and-under gold division Sunday in the 13th annual Orange Soccer Club tournament. There were 160 teams in the two-day tournament, played on fields throughout Orange.
In other boys’ competition: North Huntington Beach defeated Triad, 1-0, to win the 19-and-under silver division; Cal defeated Orange, 2-1, to win the 16-and-under division, and Cerritos defeated Bakersfield, 2-1, to win the 15-and-under division.
In girls’ competition: Mission Viejo defeated Chino, 1-0, to win the 19-and-under division; JUSA defeated Villa Park, 2-1, to win the 16-and-under gold division; JUSA defeated Fountain Valley, 2-1, to win the 16-and-under silver division; Danville defeated Orange, 2-1, to win the 14-and-under gold division; Alta Loma defeated Frontier, 1-0, to win the 14-and-under silver division, and Fountain Valley defeated USA, 2-1, to win the 12-and-under division.
