Bishop’s School Hall Renovation Work Under Way
An early-1988 completion is expected for the $1-million renovation of Scripps Hall, the 77-year-old Irving Gill-designed student dormitory at The Bishop’s School, San Diego.
San Diego-based architect Krommenhoek/McKeown & Associates designed the two-story project that will convert the 15,000-square-foot original dormitory into 15 new classrooms, faculty offices and a large study hall.
The structure by Gill, a San Diego architect, is an example of his poured-in-place reinforced concrete construction in the modern mission style. Olson Construction Co. is the contractor and Burkett & Wong was the structural engineering consultant.
