What Is the Best?

Quotas in any form are demoralizing. Whether they work to your advantage, if you are Hispanic or black, or to your disadvantage, if you are Asian-American or Jewish, they subsume the individual some larger social purpose. Academic excellence has to do with character and motivation, not race. And so should college admissions.
