Evander Holyfield retained his World Boxing Assn. junior-heavyweight and International Boxing Federation cruiserweight titles by stopping Ossie Ocasio in the 11th round Saturday night at St. Tropez, France.
Holyfield (16-0) made his fourth successful title defense in a ring set up in a parking lot. The 24-year-old Holyfield scored at will with jabs in the early rounds, dominating Ocasio (32-5).
Holyfield staggered Ocasio with a solid right to the cheek in the middle of the 11th round and followed with a left and another right that sent Ocasio to the canvas.
Ocasio got up after an eight-count, but Holyfield continued to score with solid combinations, and referee John Coyle of Britain stopped the fight.
