Monroe Beats Kennedy in Alumni Basketball

Doug Marks made a four-foot scoop shot with one minute left in overtime to give Monroe a 65-63 win over Kennedy on Saturday in the second round of the High School Alumni Basketball tournament at Monroe High.

In other winners’-bracket games, Cleveland crushed Alemany, 80-61, and Crespi defeated Reseda, 75-66. In the losers’ bracket, El Camino Real downed Chaminade, 71-62, and Taft defeated Chatsworth, 84-72.
