Electrical Short Is Blamed in Seal Beach Home Fire That Caused $150,000 Damage

Investigators blamed an electrical short for a two-alarm fire early Wednesday morning that caused $150,000 damage to a two-story house on Emerald Cove Way in Seal Beach, fire officials said.
The owner, Margot H. Dahl, in her early 50s, was outside when the blaze ignited and was unhurt, fire spokeswoman Kathleen Cha said.
Flames were shooting out of the house windows and roof when 30 Orange county firefighters arrived at 5:51 a.m. The fire apparently started among some wires in the floor, Cha said.
The blaze was controlled within two hours, she said.
