Clean Sidewalks

Adding to Burt Prelutsky’s complaints (Letters, Aug. 5), why must gardeners waste so much water washing sidewalks when a broom will sweep just as clean?

Do they think that something will grow out of the cement besides a shortage of our precious water supply? Owners of property must control this waste.
