The financially plagued Bluebonnet Bowl, hunting for a corporate sponsor, will move the game back to the Astrodome after playing at Rice Stadium, also in Houston, the past two years.
A member of the bowl’s board of directors said the Houston Sports Assn., which operates the Astrodome, has agreed to pay off the game’s operating expenses, including payoffs to 1986 participants Baylor and Colorado, in exchange for a 10-year lease with a five-year option.
