Schlenzig to Head a Northrop Division
Robert G. Schlenzig was named corporate vice president and general manager of Northrop’s electronics division in Hawthorne. Schlenzig replaces Gene Hauser, who has been reassigned to the company’s aircraft division.
The electronics division has experienced severe difficulties in producing a key guidance device, known as the inertial measurement unit, for the MX missile. Schlenzig, 61, has a 35-year background in aerospace and manufacturing and, except for a three-year absence, has been with Northrop since 1962.
Most recently, he was vice president of operations at Northrop’s Defense Systems Division in Rolling Meadows, Ill.
